Year of Manufacture *: 2001 Engine Size and Code *: 2500 ( Optional) Fault Codes: P0171
Hi All
Had this in for a service a few weeks ago and did the plugs on it put in NGk and changed the manifold seals, a week or so later customer brings back with the eml on, check codes and showed P0171 system too lean bank 1, reset code and checked for air leaks found split pipe and changed.
A week later customer comes back with the light on again, he says that it only came on after a run then leaves it and when restared it sort of misfires with a hesitation then suddenly clears and will be ok for a while, has any one ideas.

Re: Jaguar X Type 2001 2.5 petrol P0171 slight misfire
Reckon we will require more info on this. What is the long/short term fuel trims? What are the emission readings at normal and fast idle? What is the pre-cat Lambda sensor doing? A smoke test or equivalent wouldn't go amiss. I assume the fault was not there prior to the service.

I'd be thinking the spark plugs are, maybe, incorrect. Had the issue myself with wrong plugs. Both types were listed, secondary ones as optional were same as Mondeo, I'm sure we fitted the Mondeo plugs and no more problem.
