Ford Focus 1.6 2004 - Cut out while driving, now non start - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2004
Engine Size and Code *: 1600
( Optional ) Scanner Used: KTS and IDS
( Optional) Fault Codes: none

Vehicle cut out while driving and will not start back up.
We have checked all lives and earths to ecu, all ok
We have both cam and crank signals back to the ecu but no trigger for the coil. All the wiring seems ok
Just wondering if anyone else has had anything like this before we send the ecu away for testing.

Hi Richard
Have you checked fuel supply & is it the right fuel ?? Blocked/ collapsed cat /silencer

Coil pack faulty and took the ecu with it by the sounds of it! Remember to fit a genuine coil pack with the new ecu.

Hi Peter,
Yes fuel is all ok m8. you can here the pump running and there is over 10,000 hc in the exhaust.
I was thinking more along the lines of what Dean is thinking but we've never had a Ford that has taken the ecu down when a coil fails.

ECU repaired and new coil fitted, Started straight up and drives fine.
