Seat Leon 2.0 BWA 16v TSFi - Under load misfire #

Engine Size and Code *: 2.0 BWA

Hi

We have a seat leon 2.0 tsfi in our work shop at the moment with a under load misfire, on code read it told us that it was a fault on no2 cylinder, we replaced plugs ,coils and coil connectors from harness on all 4 cylinders,on the road if you if you drive the car hard with revs it pulls well and fly's along, if you roll along 40/50 mph 4/5 gear and load the throttle you can almost bring it to a stall, code after the road test code still listing misfire no 2 cylinder,
any help would be appreciated

Evening John,

Can you replicate the misfire in the workshop? Anything of value on the freeze frame data? What exactly is the fault code? Finally, remember the misfire could also be due to an engine or fuelling fault. It does not necessarily have to be an ignition misfire.

Hi John,

Has this been remapped a popular engine for it, we had issues with an 2.0TFSi in an Audi it would log P0303 (from mem) when driving it hard it had been mapped not a problem with the map but the exhaust front pipe on the Audi tightens as it bends just after the turbo an aftermarket system from Milltek cured it , maybe not your problem but worth a check can you see flash status with your scan tool AL will not sure of others?

Hello John,
I had one of those cars in a few months back with the same fault code,
It turned out to be leaking valve seales,when the oil used heat up it was leaking in to the combustion chamber contaminating the plug,

Log Fuel Rail pressure
VCDS Block 230 IIRC

Specified and actual fuelling
VCDS Block 31

Fuel corrections
VCDS Block 32

Misfire counter
VCDS block 14, if your getting misfires then also block 15 and 16 to identify cylinder

Considering it almost stalls when getting on the throttle it suggests a fuelling issue.

Also suggest BKR7EIX plugs for these, have had numerous misfire problems with OEM plugs

Hello ,thanks for all your imput,followed up on Trevor,s idea,removed the inlet manifold and found all the inlet ports excessively carbonded up no2 being the worst,we are trying to dissolve the carbon,and will build it back up tomorrow and let you know how we got on
