Year of Manufacture *: 2006 Engine Size and Code *: N12 ( Optional ) Scanner Used: Autologic ( Optional) Fault Codes: None
Hi all,
Got this mini in with a no start condition. No fault codes evident in DME. Engine cranks but no start possible. We have no sparks at the plugs, although the coil grounds and 12v supplies are OK.
We've updated all the software, re-aligned the CAS-DME, swapped the main ECU relay for another, checked all the fuses in the engine bay fuse box and checked the crank position sensor output pulse, but still no start.
As it cranks the CAS must be exchanging codes with the DME and releasing the 'start enable' but for some reason we have no trigger to the coils via the DME. It looks like the power supply line to the DME (Pin 1, red & green wire) has no power to it, however, applying 12v to this line doesn't resolve the no-start condition.
Anybody got any suggestions?

Sean, pin 1 is not a power supply and it's not red/gn. I have pin one as vanos. If you send me last 7 of your VIN and an email address I will send you a few diagrams.
After a little more work this morning it seems we get 1 spark per cylinder on the first rotation of the engine only - after the first rotation it stops sparking. We've checked the crank pulse on the input to the DME and it looks OK.....
