VW Golf GTi 2.0 BWA 2008 - Starting problem - Fixed #
Posted by Dave Emm on June 18, 2013, 10:55 pm This vehicle came in with the customer complaining of poor starting when cold. Tried it when hot and it started fine. Left the vehicle overnight for cold start and then it needed three or four turns before it started and was quite uneven for approx two seconds. Code p2008 Intake manifold runner control circuit. Checked feeds earth etc to motor, all ok so changed actuator, no improvement.Removed inlet manifold to check swirl flaps all ok. Noticed that the inlet valves on no.4 cyl were very badly coked up and oily looking. There's no sign of coolant in any of the cylinders so now I'm a bit stumped as to where to go next. Any help would be appreciated, cheers Dave.
