Vauxhall Corsa C 1.2 Z12XEP 2006 - Cylinder 1 misfire, code P0300 & P0301 - Fixed #

Engine Size and Code *: 1.2 Z12XEP
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Verus Pro
( Optional) Fault Codes: P0300 & P0301

Evening gents,
Strange one here, it appears I've gained someone else's problem...... Corsa C usual misfire fault codes of P0300 & P0301, car starts & runs fine for 2 minutes or so then starts to miss ??? looks to of had a new coil pack, plugs, fuel filter as though someone has had a crack at this already ? So to start from the top:

Number 1 injector is being shut down by the ecu(CAT protection), prior to this has good waveform & correct operating parameters. Coilpack peak voltage checked, around 25Kv. Now i'm aware of the water in fuel situation these suffer so i have checked that to no avail ! After continued diagnostics i found that if i run the vehicle with the EGR disconnected the fault (misfire) does not appear ???

Not sure i'm not overlooking the absolute obvious here so any input is appreciated.

Good compressions across all 4 from cold, not checked at temperature though, no leak test carried out as yet. would the EGR have a significant bearing on a bad compression/cyl leak ???

All compressions now checked cold & at temperature, 160 psi across all 4. Cylinder leak test carried out, all look the same albeit with 2-4% ?

Make sure it has good quality plugs and coil pack.

Evening all, finally put this one to bed tonight. New EGR valve fitted & latest ECU calibration loaded & checked..... Car now runs perfectly ??? Thanks for the input lads & thanks to Dave for the phone call with some useful info, much appreciated. On to the next one !
