Vauxhall Agila 1.0 Z10XE 2000 - Engine dies when brake lights or hazards operated #

Year of Manufacture *: 2000
Engine Size and Code *: Z10XE 1.0 12v

Have this above vehicle in at the moment,

Customer has explained that it started cutting out when coming up to junctions.

a deeper look into it suggests that the ECU is losing a power supply when ever brakes are pressed, hazards are opperated or sidelights turned on.

i have checked so far the powers and ignition supplies to ECU and these are fine, the earth is bolted to the casing,

the minute you operate the hazards the management lights flicker in the dash quite erratically!

going to have a deeper look into this but has anyone got any wiring diags for fuel pump / main relays, and sidelight/brake lights/hazard warning lights? cant seem to find any on E3..

Hi Kristopher

May be worth a look at the brake light bulbs

Had a similar fault about 10 years ago on a Laguna, when you pressed the brake the engine stalled. Turned out that the filament for the brake light had become detached and linked over to the side light fillament, new bulb cured it.

Thanks for your reply Peter,

funnily enough, one of the faults was sidlights illuminating when brakes pressed!

New bulbs cured that.
