Hi
Customer description had driven approx 40 miles with caravan hitched when near to home, had sudden power loss but managed to reach home. it then spent a week in a main dealer without any success, then a dispute between 2 parties arose and vehicle taken home, it then went to her local garage who renewed a sensor think cam sensor they had read on internet was known fault no difference.
It came to us with the fault codes listed took for road test and it is consistent fault when trying to accelerate hard just wont rev also no revs above 4000 rpm if you back off speed gradually increases then when pedal pressed same symptom. not worked on TSI engines before but in EOBD live data fuel pressure reads 600Kpa but doesn't increase when throttle pressed but doesn't decay as rpm falls. would appreciate some info on tsi fueling strategy's or any ideas. geoff taylor.
Fixed did a lot of research on this but none was much help also no response from autotalk members.so we took the bull by the horns and removed high pressure fuel pump,we checked 4 lobes on camshaft end for wear but all were ok.at £200 for pump it was big decision to order and fit,but proved to be right decision car performance back to normal.
