VW Golf 1.4 TSi BLG 2008 - Replaced timing chain but now has slight misfire - Unresolved #

Hello, we've replaced the timing chain kit on a 58 reg Golf 1.4 TSI which had been diagnosed by another garage who had recently serviced it.
The timing was out so we replaced the kit and rebuilt it with a new water pump(magnetic clutch type) which had a small leak.
The compressions seem ok, ranging from 150 to 135 but there is a slight misfire noticed at idle and around 2,000 RPM. There initially wasn't any fault codes but after around 2 weeks, fault code P2015 logged but didn't bring on the engine management light.
We accidentally noticed it seemed better without the engine cover vacuum reservoir connected. Could the fault code be generated from not having the vacuum pipe connected?
We've rechecked the timing and reinserted the tools and it seems fine. TDC is checked with a gauge and could possibly be very very slightly off?? The owner says it ran fine before?
Any one come across anything similar before?

Have you got a scope and a amp clamp, relative compression test is far more accurate.

Had a 1.4 polo in the other week with a random misfire at idle and light revs. Had one lower compression on relative. Had a lot of burnt out exhaust valves and worn guides.

Sorry, forgot to put the fault code description, thanks for the reply.
It's strange how the fault code took such a while to generate, which made me think if we had a vacuum pipe off could the swirl flaps have moved and generated the fault code?
Has anyone had swirl flaps causing a simalar problem and the fault is a coincidence? Or should I go back and triple check the timing, take the chain off and redo it again?
Would the new water pump/super charger clutch need programming?
There is a boost gauge and that seems quite erratic but power on the road doesn't seem too bad? It's very strange.

had the pleasure of replacing water pump on one of these last week and no programming needed.Only thing noticed re flaps is that of the two bolts holding the bracket to manifold one was hanging on by a few threads re tightened all ok.

Ok thanks, I'll try get it back and have another look at that, did you just happen to notice the bolts loose when you were doing the pump or was there a running issue fault as well?
I'm trying to remember how the swirl flaps mountings are, are the bolts accessible?
