Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 2003 - Emission fault - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003
Engine Size and Code *: 1200
( Optional ) Scanner Used: opcom
( Optional) Fault Codes: non

fast idle lambda 0.95-0.97
co -1.2-1.4.
hc-2-350 ppm.
long term fuel trim -1
reset adaptations
air mass -1.23volts idle -4.2 peak.
at idle emissions all ok .injection duration 4.0ms
at fast idle 3.0ms
any ideas before next step. oil and filter with new air mass ???

Bit short on back ground info, do we take it this is an MOT fail issue ?

What is the lambda sensor reporting at fast idle ?

so you have a rich condition, does the front o2 sensor switch correctly ? does the coolant temp sensor read correctly , how about the air filter , whats the engine vaccume , is the exhaust smokey like a worn engine,

just a few ideas for you.

lambda switch cross count looks good at idle ,we replaced with new bosch as it was very slow .
Have not checked vac at idle but will do ,coolent temp bang on .
will check lambda switching at 2500 ,but does start to show a little oil burn when holding at that revs.

oil burn is the likely culprit for the readings you have ., if you were to do a compression test , you may find 120 110 psi which is not uncommon on a worn corsa engine, good is 160

cheers ,going to check first thing and flush through then new oil and filter anyway .keep you posted .possibly why lambda gave up .

FIXED**
Did a comp test all ok then engine flush ,new oil and filter with pd oil, yes pd! oil and did plugs as matter of course

Slowly the emissions improved
and the cat fired up once lambda hit around 1.
