Hi Chaps, 2 Years ago we replaced the Inlet Manifold and the 4 Intake Divider /Partition plates in the Cylinder head ports. The customer came back recently with issues that pointed at the Manifold flap linkage had broken again. He took car to another garage due to our lead time. Manifold was replaced and they said the plate in No 4 was upside down. He is now after some money back. The technician who did the job is no longer with us and we have not done one since.
Looking at photos on google of the plate(Part No: 06H103411B) I do not think they can be fitted upside down due to the way the head is cast and the angle of the plate I have hunted high and low to confirm this, seen many pics but cannot find hard proof that i can download/print to back up the issue. Can anyone confirm they only fit one way and any printable back up evidence to send to the owner?
Definitely not possible to fit the wrong way. The partition is shaped at the sides in a half moon at 45 degrees and the main plate is angled downwards. Hence, fitting any other way than correct means the partition protrudes the head which wouldn't allow the inlet manifold to be fitted - you'd have probably a 5mm gap and the injector wouldn't locate into the head.
I've got pictures and a video which I'll upload when I get home.
