Re: good morning,,,its half way
Good morning all. Yes, God does love those who honor and care for their parents. I believe they bring a smile to His face. I sure miss mine but I know they are in a much, much better place. This is definitely not a time to be without AC. If ours went out we would have to stay in a hotel until it was fixed because our dogs couldn't handle it. Now if it was in the 80's, I'm thinking they might be able to handle it okay for a little while if they were in the basement, where it stays a wee bit cooler, but there's no way they could handle the 90's and I don't think I could either. We're all pretty soft when it comes to the heat. People who own these "winter" dogs like huskies, Alaskan malemutes, New Foundlands and those big white Great Pyrenees dogs should know they need to stay cooler or they can easily have heat strokes. Our Scotties were bred in the highlands of Scotland and they definitely need to stay cool. We had one overheat once when it was in the 80's and almost lost him so if they are outside they are in their wading pool or just going out to do their business but you'll usually see them stretched out over one of the cool air vents when they're inside these days. I think most people who had these kind of dogs in the old days lived beside creeks or rivers where the dog could just wade in and cool off whenever they wanted. We have a creek down the hill but it's not fit to swim in because we also have a lot of cow neighbors who do their business in it. Well, let's hope it cools off a little soon. They're saying it's only going to be in the 90's today and tomorrow and then back in the 80's, which are slightly more bearable. I'll bet its really miserable in south Georgia and Florida. I remember those days. It felt like walking into an oven when you stepped outside. Nobody bought a car with black interior because they couldn't sit in it for quite awhile. No mowing or weed whacking going on here. I do have some tomatoes getting close to picking. Yawl have a blessed Wednesday and stay cool.
