Well, when you believe that everything that happens to us comes through God's hands first (which is the theology of all Presbyterians), then reality takes a different shape. Sometimes we are being punished or corrected in order to make us walk the line a little better. Sometimes we are being toughened up for future trials. Sometimes we have really bad times so that we can show that God's grace is sufficient. And at other times things go great so that we have reason to give praise to God. The Apostle Paul said he could be content in wealth or poverty. I'm not there yet. God is still working on me. I still grumble sometimes so I guess I still have some lessons to learn. But reality as a whole does not scare me as much as it does some people. My Father has this in His very capable hands.
