MEMORIAL DAY THOUGHTS
by Gene Minix
How many brave men and women
Through the years gone by
Marched off to the battlefields
In answer to their country's cry?
How many gave so much
That we might remain free?
Men and women who gave their lives
For you and for me.
It is good that we take this day
To remember those so brave.
For all that they done
And for all that they gave.
It is good that we take this day
To lay wreaths on the graves
In remembrance of all
The men and women so brave.
Of all those who came not back
But died fighting the foe.
Let us never forget what they did
Whatever we do and wherever we go.
