I just checked the roster that the USS Rush Association keeps of active and inactive members. Sad to say, Paul's name does not appear, which means that we had not been reconnected with him by anyone else who served in USS Rush and is on our roster. As Charley said, anyone who served on destroyers and any US Navy vessel was exposed in some way to asbestos. The lagging (wrapping) around all hot water and heat piping was made from asbestos, and it was everywhere. That should be well documented in the public domain. Good Luck.
