You seem to think there's political salvation in abstention, and that there won't be "Plenty more damage to humans & nonhumans to be done in the long term" if you stay home. So make the case.
My case is that what makes the author a chump is the delusuion that stage-managed elections are real politics instead of a distraction, not the act of taking five minutes to make one of the innumerable choices between bad options offered by a failed democracy under neoliberalism. As I've said here before, to me that's a fetishization of the act of voting.
