Dunno, just don't like the guy . His programmes on Radio 4 used to piss me off and the feeling remains. 'Hack' is unfair i'm sure but he's amongst a group of go to academics firmly ensconsed within the ideological walls surrounding the British state and, therefore, on issues like this, not to be trusted or at least taken seriously - in my opinion.
As for the vid my opinions about the virus and the way it's been dealt with are here in this thread- https://members5.boardhost.com/xxxxx/msg/1599685284.html - so I won't rehash them now. Suffice to say I thought they all sounded like mad people, particularly Christina Pagel ('no one should get covid'). Well meaning mad people perhaps, but lost in their theoretical models and predictions. I'm happy to be proved wrong on this. It's telling that Jon Ashworth asks for and receives a dismissal from the group of Sunetra Guptas recent comments on Question Time (the link below outlines her point of view) which is a telling indication of the group think at work. I don't want to get into a big row about this and kind of regret my superfluous comment about Al Khalili which is surely unfair, however, for what it's worth, I think this groups alarmist interpretations of the data combined with an impossibly naive belief that any of their somewhat constructive recommendations will be adopted by the bunch of crooks in charge increases the chances of a lockdown which will be a ####ing disaster for the country.
