I agree on the environmental consequences of a meat based diet: people should eat less meat and by that I mean an awful lot less, but I have no problem with animal products like milk & cheese: (I live next to a dairy.) nor eggs: (from my neighbours chickens..."the ladies" are presently ensconced on their hot water bottles...) nor indeed with meat eating per se: in small amounts meat has been an essential (and prized) element in peasant cooking for millennia.

Nor am I squeamish. I've killed quite a lot myself: fish, fowl, rabbit, hare, etc, but these days get a lot of meat free from gamekeepers after shoots: rabbit and pheasant are given away if you can do the prep yourself, and I'll not pass a roadkill deer either without putting it to good use.

On Morrisey whom you quote, the guy is a racist who supports the murderous regime of Israel. Just another vegetarian hypocrite I suppose in the Alan Clarke mould, who saw his own vegetarianism as being just:
