People around here are being told that it doesn't matter if we mix and match our vaccines between first and second shots. Some people who had a first jab of Astro-Zeneca (before it got discontinued) have followed up six weeks later with Sinopharm.
Those I know who took their first Sino jab in Zim a week ago are told to take their second jab where and when they can get it, no matter the brand.
But to me, as a layperson, it seems crazy to suggest mixing of vaccine?. These drugs are in clinical trials until 2023 and should surely each be be evaluated on their own merits Pick-and-mix will surely lose traceability for outcomes & adverse events. Aren't meds supposed to be carefully tracked during clinical trials? Is it safe to mix any and all brands, in tandem jabs?
Or perhaps I'm being thick, and it's all ok, a bit like mixing disprin and aspirin?
