Generally speaking I would have thought that the deradicalization prog by state is perhaps not well thought out. Probably ham-fisted as can be expected from the state. Being so focused on Belt and Road and Xinjiang being a vital node it has it's own baggage.
The other point that was raised in the Bikshek post is the refugees. Nobody has any numbers and this would clarify. I haven't seen any reports of the refugee camps in Kazakhstan. But then I doubt it would be advertised by them since they are all in it together. From some mates working near that border I haven't heard anything but that was 10 odd years ago.
