I was going by the numbers in that public health report which as I emphasised are still provisional (and weren't publicised all that much actually - I don't think I heard it on the telly news (might have missed it)). I thought it was likely to be less deadly, just because viruses have more evolutionary pressure to become less deadly and more transmissible over time (dead people don't spread it as well).
I could distrust everything coming out of Public Health England, with justification, though if anything when they and the rest of the government have been flaky about the pandemic numbers it's been in the minimise direction imv (aside maybe from in the early stages when they were desperate for people to follow the lockdown to avoid the carnage that they seemingly came to believe would be caused by their initial policies); it was backed up by Scottish numbers fwiw, but they were both small sample sizes - if I see some other numbers I'll look at them - the proof (of whether delta is a worry here) will be in how the numbers and other indicators pan out in the next few weeks (ivermectin is a separate question to whether the virus is going to be more transmissible here, not least because we likely won't be using it in the near future - and there'll still probably be a limit to how far cases can grow if we do use it - but I'm open to the evidence on that).
Here's my usual argument again: which PTB? I'll certainly grant that some PTB seemingly have a motivation to want it to continue (big Pharma/gates etc), but other similarly powerful groups are pushing in the other direction (eg the tufton street network and similar groups (and the oligarchs they represent), Murdoch etc) - this isn't to say I prefer one to the other bunch of elite scumbags just because one of them is seemingly closer to my views of the pandemic, or for that matter to cast all people who are sceptical as being right wing baddies, just to point out at the very least that it's not all one way. The UK government for one are still doing everything they can to minimise it as far as I can see, unless the bodies pile high etc is all an elaborate bluff. Whatever the ####'s going on, it's more complex than one overarching power centre controlling everything, as usual (except in the nebulous sense of the upper class).
