Kites? Cool. We have a lot of buzzards. At lambing you can often see a dozen or more circling above like vultures: placentas are the treat I reckon but they will clean up the stillborn lambs too. Sometimes you will pass three or even four perched on walls and posts individually like ragged sentinels attending your journey home.
Quite a lot of Peregrines too. I got a lift from a non-local once and casually pointed out a couple of them in a field on a strawbale. Its easy to forget that they are a bit of a twitchers treat: he nearly drove us off the road gawping.
