To suggest that Government intent is other than what western governments state it to be places a writer outside the Overton window.
Its amazing how strong the urge to accept convention is. I meet it all the time when talking to just ordinary people: You can propose that the government may have failed because of ingrained habit, traditions, economic happenstance, stupidity and incompetence etc: these are all perfectly acceptable stances but you cant question the intended benevolence: that they generally "mean well".
No one wants to ask that question Medialens asks: "Why Are We The Good Guys?"
