Re: Brain strained G ? You've clearly mis-fired a 100% irrelevant "neural" response..
Yes. To vacillate though (I blame the sci fi), that's not to say that this sort of tech is all that far away from nefarious uses (and maybe good, but only if it pays). Corporations have been using brain scanning tech for ages to test/tweak adverts or whatever, and I've no doubt work on all sorts of terrible shit is ongoing - brain interface tech is imminent with all the worries that will bring (the basic principle has already been proven with eg cochlea implants and even supposedly picking up images from neural data (if I remember correctly)). It's just that particular company advert sounded like fluff trying to cash in the potential (I don't believe any bollocks musk says about it either, based on past performance (eg his ridiculous subways made of cars).
(I read a good sf/thriller all about neural interface tech written by a software engineer (Nexus by Ramez Naam) - it was all fictional, but the principles discussed seem roughly feasible (in the story at least) - a good read though, with nefarious government mind control schemes, but also rebellious neural hackers, mind merging on drugs in raves, and buddhist hive minds (probably not as politically astute as we might prefer, but a good yarn *sf reading group ends*)
