re: 'underlying motives' I meant that as someone who claims to be a journalist she shouldn't be taking govt, big business or anyone's claims at face value. There's plenty of evidence to suggest the US govt cares not a jot for the health & wellbeing of ordinary citizens there or in other countries. Why presume that the push for full vaccination stems from a desire to protect people and save lives? Plenty of other motives are plausible without going into tinfoil hat territory. For example: govts that proved incapable of test & trace, PPE, mask manufacture or other methods used to control the spread virus have only one option left - mass vaccination - in order to get people back to work & consuming asap
re: immunisation requirements in Oz, again it's known before people enter those lines of employment, not introduced as a blanket measure halfway through. Questions remain for me about the ethics of mandating medical treatments in this way, but when you dig down into it there's nothing about being employed that is free from coercion - people only need to work in the first place because of having been alienated from the land and means of primary subsistence.
