I think Mark should have made that distinction, in that the article was not referring to Russian state influence but private companies and their corrupting influence on UK politicians. By not doing so it just became indistinguishable from and part of the Anti-Russian frenzy we are all aware of.
Everything else you say -- about Tory politicians in general and Sunak in particular -- I agree with 100 per cent.
I suppose what I'm asking for is a higher standard of probity and diligence from our side than from theirs -- not much of a high benchmark is it?
