Re: "Starmerism has failed" -- Morning Star
Of course as we know, the real threat from corbyn was never that he wasn't popular enough, it was that his mild social democracy policies were all too popular (when given a fair hearing), and that just couldn't be allowed to happen (you can have any colour you like as long as it's neoliberalism) - hence why they had to spend four years playing the man not the ball - using the corporate media hegemony to create a pavlovian disgust/fear/ridicule reaction in the public whenever his name was mentioned, preferably before anyone had a chance to bring up the policies.
I really think the media smear storm that happened in the run up to 2019 was unprecedented (michael foot notwithstanding) - it felt unreal just how blatant the whole-establishment bias was, especially in the last couple of weeks (the dianne abbot shoe photoshopping, the corbyn posters on vans outside schools with 'would you trust this man with your children' the kuenssberg fabriacted attack, etc etc). One day this whole period will be looked back on by academics/thinkers as a blatant example of just how undemocratic our so called democracies are/were (that, or it's techno/neo-feudalism all the way down).
