* Ukrainian defenses begin collapsing across Donbas;
* Salient around Popasnya continues to expand in all directions;
* Russian forces take Lyman and continue advance toward Sloviansk;
* Western media begins shifting to panic over Ukraine's prospects;
* West moving toward sending multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS);
* Western MLRS give no advantage to Ukraine over Russia;
* MLRS were in Ukraine's arsenal in late February but have since been reduced;
* Russian MLRS are equal or better than Western systems and also more numerous;
* Pentagon admits Russian making progress despite most Western weapons arriving
on the front line.
