When I was a small boy my dads medals were in the "cabinet": those redundant things holding things considered precious and never use in normal life that no one has any more.

The analogy was clearly the idea that we were fighting an enemy: communism, that had many heads. Cut off one and another appeared elsewhere. It mooted the notion of a supernatural enemy with a multiplicity of faces that, hand in hand with the "Domino theory" meant we should be preparing for a never-ending war.
I agree that Putin is a moderate. I agree that if he is ousted worse will take his place in Russia... as here likewise, btw. I also agree Tisdale "truly is an idiot."
but your post reminds me: no fault on your own behalf, that we are returning to the mythological analysis of the world last seen seventy years ago.
