On that "Me-Here-Now" the unions would be content with a 10.1 % pay rise. That's not more money: its maintaining the status quo, Status quo as in "no change" and "not worse". That's because its where inflation is at: you know: that reduction in purchasing power brought about by forces outwith their control.
After people as reassured that they and their families won't be immediately starving to death or thrown out their homes I'm sure they would be very amenable to talk about geopolitics.
But I have a question to ask.
Are you actually really about fourteen or have you just been brought up in a comfortable upper middle class family with no connection whatsoever to the reality of the majority of the population and their genuine concerns?
