Re: If he really wanted to go who would, or could stop him? Liz Truss can and did stop him.......
.......because that's the way it works, as you jolly well already know. That's the whole point of a constitutional monarchy. He isn't actually the boss, he's a figurehead, in a system you don't support, and I do.. Liz Truss is our boss and his boss, so that's the brilliant thing here which you should be celebrating, and which I, even as a monarchist, would normally celebrate too - that's how UK democracy works, and you should, as a republican, be pretty happy about our wonderful new PM telling the King where to get off. . if he were to go to this meeting against the advice of the elected PM, that's a huge constitutional no-no,, would cause a constitutional crisis, and you'd be the first to complain and say "off with his head". The problem for me is not that the PM has "advised" him not to go, she's allowed to do this, but that the issue with which she's chosen to exert her authority confirms her stupidity and the fact she's really a nasty, vindictive woman and also likely to continue her premiership, as long as it lasts, as an environmental criminal. Because, let's face it, what is she so worried about that the King might do at a vitally important environmental meeting? If she actually had our interests at heart, she should be welcoming any support she can muster for urgently needed environmental action. and be thanking the King for his long standing environmental activitism. Honestly, please be consistent......
