Like you, Sue, I watch a lot of films on Talking Pictures -- but my experience is entirely the opposite. The vast majority don't depict "real" working class people at all; they're either made fun of as comedy relief or shown as servile forelock-tuggers. Most of the films are excruciatingly middle-class with the likes of Celia Johnson and Noel Coward (Daphne Molestrangler and Binky Huckerbank) agonising over their precious emotional sensibilities.
Once upon a time - now largely gone - it was thought that working class people had interesting stories to tell.
Which films would these be, Sue? Interested to know.
