I was astonished although I shouldn't have been at the correlation. Aside from a couple of major ports the majority of the UK population lived on and indeed still lives on the coal deposits.
Access to fossil fuels has structured the entire human geography of this Island the way it is now.
It is a massive job to undo the process that has been not only with us effectively since the Agricultural revolution of the 18th c. but growing steadily till the 1960s.
It strikes me on this matter alone there is a need for a revolutionary government because the alternative is ultimately the destruction of the ordinary people of Britain by what can only be described as a Malthusian elite.
