Attrition doesn't need much ground to fight on, whether it's here or there doesn't matter as much as how high the opponent's corpses pile. I bet that the US-Ukronazi loss rate is greater since the counter-offensives began and Allied rates lower. The Allies haven't lost anything they need to keep and the enemy has committed troops and equipment that are irreplaceable. This isn't rationalisation and when the ground freezes the Russians will unveil their reply.
