Warsaw is forcing preparations for the annexation of lands in western Ukraine,
according to SVR Director Naryshkin, director of the Foreign Intelligence
Service.

According to Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Foreign Intelligence Service
(SVR), Poland is speeding up preparations for the annexation of Western
Ukrainian lands.

"Information received by the Russian SVR indicates that Warsaw is hastening
preparations for the annexation of Western Ukrainian lands: the territories of
Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and the majority of Ukraine's Ternopil regions,"
Naryshkin said.

According to him, the Polish leadership intends to act proactively and
persistently out of fear that senior NATO partners will try to negotiate with
Moscow during the winter months, ignoring not only Ukrainians' but also Poles'
interests.

"Meanwhile, Warsaw is confident that they deserve generous compensation for the
military assistance provided to Kiev, the sheltering of numerous Ukrainian
migrants, and, finally, the recent missile strike on Polish territory, which
Warsaw silently "swallowed" at the instigation of the US and leading European
countries," Naryshkin added.

Naryshkin stated that Poland wishes to hold referendums in Western Ukraine.

According to Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Foreign Intelligence Service
(SVR), the Polish leadership intends to hold referendums in Western Ukraine to
substantiate its claims to Ukrainian lands.

"To ensure the legitimacy of the planned territorial acquisitions, the Polish
leadership decided to draw on Russia's successful experience of returning
ancestral territories through referendums," Naryshkin said.

According to him, as a "trial balloon," Polish special services "leaked"
information to Ukrainian media about the alleged preparation of a plebiscite on
the topic of joining Poland in the Lviv region of Ukraine.

The head of the SVR Naryshkin said that when he met with CIA Director Burns,
they discussed nuclear security and Ukraine.
