I don't believe that 'bourgeois democracy' along with 'freedom of speech' can survive the war against Russia and China. The stakes are too high. Dissent has virtually been illiminated from the mainstream media and this appears to be the fate of alternative platforms too, eventually. It's as if the Assange Affair was a test case. If he could be cancelled, than anyone could. Liberals and the soft left failed him and ultimately failed themselves.
