I remember a local, packed, residents' meeting up at Grenfell in the early days after the fire where a black solicitor spoke from the stage about the racial aspect of the fire. He was quickly shouted down by many of the black residents present who shouted out "it's about class not race!". That was a real eye opener to many of those present.

It's really about lack of power. And the disempowerment and consequent vulnerability of the working class who are disempowered not only because of their colour but because of their class.

Though colour often can be seen as an indication of lower class status. Because many black people, often because of their colour, are even less likely to get the opportunities that their fellow whites might occasionally get.

So, both issues are of importance. With class to the fore.
