Haven't US and Western militaries generally been money-spinning enterprises since at least the end of the cold war?(Also during the cold war if the point made during the No 2 NATO speeches was correct, about soviet military capability only being 40% of what western intel was saying.) ie: they scrape just about enough hardware together to bomb the bejeezus out of 3rd world countries, but otherwise it's just a funnel of taxpayer money to giant corporations making pointless hyper-expensive boondoggles that don't even work. I think we're seeing this come apart in Ukraine against an enemy making targeted investments in material & manpower to achieve concrete goals after a preparation of only around 5 years. US MIC goons should be too embarrassed to show their faces in public, and if this carries on they won't even be capable of defending their own borders, much less 'projecting' their power around the world as they've grown used to doing. Rejoice!
