Just one pro-feline objection George re your "wise" Chinese adage:
"What's the point of a cat if it doesn't catch mice?"

Sorry mate - but I (like most informed - ergo disillusioned - humans) far prefer cats to circa 80% of humans.

And that feline feeling is mutual - cats(esp. black cats..) in stark contrast to most dogs - seem to be fascinated by and tuned to the same wavelengths as this fiercely anti-normal and largely nocturnal 2-legged creature - aka Yours Truly.

I can imagine a very wise and cool cat's response to George's Chinese aphorism:

"What's the point of bl**dy humans if they don't feed us, take care of us - and each other!?"
