I agree - failure to adopt open selection of Labour parliamentary candidates was a watershed moment and a truly inept move by JC, in collaboration with Len McCluskey as I recall, which undermined the huge groundswell of left-wing energy in the party. I think JC, nice and mild-mannered man that he is, has been let off extremely lightly for betrayals such as this, forsaking his clear stance in support of justice for Palestinians (and capitulating to the manufactured anti-semitism smear), abandoning several of his closest political allies when the going got hot, etc. Behaviour worthy of an invertebrate, I fear.
