The obligatory fluffy fugazi phrase "international community" was of course used and abused ad nauseam between 2001-2003 to sell the fallacy that a global, community-spirited moral majority of world citizens were axiomatically united in a shared belief that "terrorism" had to be defeated with war-like zeal whatever the cost.

By polar contrast Chinese leaders have recently resurrected the phrase in order to present as axiomatic the fact - not the fallacy - that a community-spirited moral majority of world citizens are united in their shared desire for peace.
