Chinese language and literature, diplomat and orientalist. For many years he
worked at the embassy of the USSR, and then of the Russian Federation in
Beijing. Former Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation
Organization (SCO) and senior lecturer of the Faculty of World Economy and World
Politics, Higher School of Economics.
