the Republic of China on the island province of Taiwan, and instead now
recognizes the People's Republic of China in Beijing as the sole legitimate
government of one China.
Honduras joins the vast majority of the world's nations including even the US,
UK, EU, Japan, and Australia;
The UN also recognizes Taiwan as a province of China and the PRC as the sole
legitimate government of China;
Even the ROC's own constitution recognizes Taiwan is an island province of
China, and simply claims the ROC is the sole legitimate government over the
entirety of China;
Only through US military and political support does the ROC on Taiwan maintain
the illusion of "autonomy," and this US-sponsored separatism is at the root of
US-Chinese tensions;
Were the ROC to declare the island province of Taiwan "independent," its economy
would immediately collapse and would exist solely to host US troops menacing
China ahead of major war;
