"Toxic masculinity" certainly was worthless pop psychology in the case I refer to above concerning Younge's attribution of mass shooters to this supposed "culture". As I said at the time:

"...the problem with using Aspergers and Spectrum sufferers as examples for "toxic masculinity" is that (Aspergers, Spectrum disorders) are reckoned to have a neurological base, not a societal one.

Such individuals are often peripheral or excluded from society therefore can't be used to exemplify traits the "theory" considers a toxic part of that society..."
