"Trotskyism's" value was never really down to what it could do for the strength of the left, on the contrary, it only split the left into various mutually antagonistic "religious" factions that weakened and undermined the left, and, paradoxically helped the Establishment in the West to divide and rule. The "Troskyist" scourge still has a role to play in colouring how many sects and individuals perceive the current conflict between NATO and Russia, which they absurdly imagine is plucky little Ukraine, progressive/left Ukraine, against an imperialistic Russia.
