I don;t think your suggestion is that much out-of-left field. The US military has proven remarkably adept in using the culture wars to advance itself in places where it wouldn't once have been welcomed. Womanface (blokes in frocks) play leading roles in some of the main military services and everything, but everything, is now wrapped in the rainbow flag. So, yeah, a black woman in the Whitehouse with missiles adorned in rainbow stripes coupled with an all-out propaganda campaign that the military-inustrial complex is all about trans and gay rights and things could get lively.
