Its not only within the Western World that Orientalism is openly on display and directed at Beijing/China - within the past few hours i had a few notification from Reddit from a Hong Kong Reddit Group. I must say, the anti-China propaganda and anti-Mainland Chinese crap was something to behold from Westernised Han Chinese. Indeed.much of it was genuinely racist, despite the fact those posting are of the same ethnic group.

Obviously, having lived in Hong Kong now for 27 years, 26 years of these under Beijing Rule, with a bi-racial daughter who has benefited from a State education one could not resit sticking my oar in and congratulating China on its National Day, congratulate the CCP for moving the largest number of human beings ever out of poverty, much of this post 1979 and denouncing the whingers for not only being 'orientalists/racists' but stupid to boot.

I finished by underscoring the fact I'm happy to refer to myself as an immigrant and Communist.

No response thus far from those indoctrinated with a love of the USA/UK, but, given the high cost of rentals and property here, recommended they bugger off to live in the chosen dreamlands if China was not appealing to them.
