I don't think the Cdn gov't is expecting support from anywhere for this screw up. The silver lining is that it's educational for everyone, reminds people that Russia fought against the Nazis in WWII, and shines light on current day Nazi ideology supporters and promoters while bringing the evil that was done by their heroes back into focus. That challenges so many mainstream beliefs and policies esp. about the Ukraine war so maybe it will break through and have an impact on policy.
