It would probably be advisable, but I think the wider point is the standard of complete perfection dissident figures are held to while others (eg: Boris Johnson and the Jews control the media trope in his book) get a free pass time & time again. You're not allowed to make a single mistake - they'll pick through your entire life, and if they find anything that even slightly sounds like a problematic statement, you're done. Nobody can manage that, and it's crass hypocrisy of the highest order for bloodthirsty media ghouls or apologists for apartheid & colonialism to get on their high horse about the morality of something somebody may or may not have said decades ago in order to destroy their reputation. They're not just responsible for maybe causing offense to a few people on a few occasions, but the destruction of entire countries and the murder, displacement, impoverishment and ethnic cleansing of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians. And now they want to be able to act as moral policemen over every conversation we ever have? They can f* right off and continue doing so for the rest of their miserable lives.
jeers,
