Anecdotally I shop in Perth...and even a rural town like that in the middle of nowhere in a rural economy is full of immigrants. In the past there were many working in the farms around which fluctuated seasonally but now the biggest hotels had been commandeered by the Home Office to accommodate refugees. Every week there's a distribution of free food in the main car park...mainly to immigrant families with many obviously dependent on this as there simply isn't the work available in rural Scotland for the numbers being pressed here. Whatever Bravermans bravo about being opposed to immigraton, its patently obvious that the massive surge since Brexit & Covid has actualy been Tory government policy. Sunak talks the talk about educated immigrants but in fact I reckon most are being imported as cheap labour: especially for the healthcare sector.
The illegal immigrants coming in small boats thing is a "-look a squirrel!" distraction. Most immmigrants enter perfectly legaly.
Net migration to UK hit 745,000 in 2022.
The graph here gives a lie to the idea that the Tories are opposed immigration. It's real policy has obviously been to increase it to record numbers:
